Five tracks. Full pressure.
Artwork, sound and the space between. Choose a track to load its real SoundCloud player; nothing plays automatically.
The sound
SYSTEM 174 focuses on dark, rolling drum & bass: tight breaks, a two-step foundation, sustained Reese bass and deep sub. Industrial textures and sparse melodic elements create tension without losing space in the mix.
Built for the mix
Long introductions, extended rolling passages and clean outros leave room for DJs to blend. The groove stays central, with restrained vocals and slowly evolving bass.
A connected creative practice
Music, artist artwork and development come together under one identity. SYSTEM 174 also supplies sample music for A/B TEKNIQ, connecting independent releases with the tools I build.
A website built around listening
The official site brings music, playlists, artist information and release destinations into one place. SoundCloud-powered music pages and a persistent player make the catalogue the centre of the experience.
Discovery and continuity
Track and playlist browsing supports continuous loading or numbered pagination. The persistent player offers a consistent place to control playback while exploring the site.
Official destinations
Release and artist links connect listeners to SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, alongside the artist’s own website.
Consent and media
The official site keeps optional analytics off until consent. On this portfolio page, external audio players load only when the visitor explicitly chooses a track.
Behind the website
Next.js App Router, React and TypeScript provide the application, with Tailwind styling and an Express production wrapper. The project’s build wrapper supports deployment on a lower-resource host.
Catalogue integration
SoundCloud access and refresh tokens are handled by the server. Token refresh and a persistent token cache avoid requiring a reconnect after each refresh.
Editorial control
A protected administration surface supports catalogue refresh, connection health and track assignments. Assignment backups and persistent storage configuration support deployment recovery.
Release artwork
A dedicated artwork workflow generates small, medium and large WebP assets for release imagery, keeping presentation separate from catalogue data.
Explore the connected projects
SYSTEM 174 is the musical side of the same development and creative practice. A/B TEKNIQ brings the music into a native performance workflow; its visual engine extends a planned Set into a moving-image output.
Explore the project
Music and release details are drawn from the official SYSTEM 174 site; website architecture is based on the project README and package manifest, reviewed 25 October 2026.
